Growth of Social Media Platforms for Journalists



Everyone with a social media account and a smart phone can now become a journalist thanks to technology and online innovation which allows for anyone to go live on multiple social media platforms. Social media has also become the go to source for where people are getting their news. According to a survey done by the Pew Research Center, 67% of U.S. adults reported getting news from social media (Shearer & Gottfried 2017). With trends of new platforms becoming capable of news based information, there are even more ways to for all kinds of journalists to get the news and information out to the public.
