Visual Social Media and its Impact
Visual social media trends are on the rise as every device
now has a camera option, and platforms are moving away from traditional communication
and optimizing visual communication. People are engaging more with instant
visual communication, which is why social platforms likes Snapchat and
Instagram are on the rise (H.Esquina, Personal Communication, 2017).
Visual communication is also a powerful tool for
organizations and businesses because images are generating more engagement on
social media (Pollard, 2016). Society
and culture is changing audiences’ attention span, which in return changes how
we communicate and consume information on social media.
